FAQ

  • Can I use my health insurance?
Absolutely! We are In-Network with most major insurance companies, and we'll be happy to send your visit to them for you. Just bring the most current copy of your insurance card to your visit and we'll take care of all the rest!
  • Can I fill out the paperwork before my visit?
You sure can! Click below for a fillable PDF you can bring in completed.
  • Do you treat children?
Yes! We care for all ages in our office. Due to their rapid growth and active nature, children benefit from chiropractic care, just like adults!
  • Will I need to have X-Rays taken at my first visit?
We do not routinely order X-Rays for new patients. However, if the doctor deems it necessary based on the results of your exam, we will certainly order any imaging needed.
  • How long does the first appointment take?
New patient appointments are typically 45 minutes to allow time for a thorough exam and treatment. We do ask that you arrive a few minutes early to complete paperwork.
  • I recently had an X-Ray/MRI/CT - should I bring a copy to my appointment?
If you've got a copy of the images and/or report, please bring those with you to your appointment. If you don't currently have a copy, that's OK too! We can always request it from the facility where the test was performed.
  • I have insurance, but I'd prefer to be self-pay. Is that Ok?
Absolutely! The choice of how to handle your visit with us, is entirely up to you! We'll happily provide a receipt or itemized statement if you'd like to have those for your records.

Fall Sports Resilience

Fall sports season is upon us and ramping up into high gear. Now is the best time to take steps to prevent unnecessary injuries, stop those wear and tear aches and pains, and build a strong foundation for a winning season. With teenage athletes, the best ways to go about this is to take steps before injuries happen. This can look like a number of different things.

Refuel and recover

Fueling enough and with the right stuff can make all the difference. Especially with any sport who's practices are lasting more than an hour a day.

Ensuring that your athlete is getting at least an extra 500 calories of fuel a day for every hour they are practicing, on top of the typical daily recommended 2,000 calories a day on average. Some experts even make the case that growing teenagers can burn as many as 2600 to 2800 calories a day just by sitting around.

An extra 500 calories a day can look as simple as an extra half a sandwich or two tall glasses of chocolate milk. While vegetables, protein, and complex carbohydrates are preferred, even junk food will suffice if the only options are sugar versus nothing at all.

Appropriate rest is the other side of the coin to success. Getting adequate sleep and regular sleep allows the body to rebuild and build back stronger the muscles and bone that are under stress during intense practices and training. Teenagers naturally have a shift in their circadian rhythm compared to adults.

This naturally prompts them to stay awake later into the evening or night, closer to 10:00 p.m.  It also shifts their internal wake time to closer to 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning. Of course, this is more acceptable in the summer as opposed to school year, and early morning weightlifting sessions do not always accommodate this.

This is why you'll see collegiate and professional sports teams now stressing the importance of having air mattresses and comfortable places around their facilities for their athletes to take a 45-90 minute nap in the middle of the day, to allow for the mind and body recovery.

Addressing Back Pain Differently

Low back pain affects 80% of people throughout their lives and is one of the most common musculoskeletal problems a person will endure. But this is often fixable when addressed the right way.

While some professionals focus on small muscles and small movements for improving back pain, it's hard to relate these tabletop exercises back to the things we need to use our bodies for on a daily basis.

This is why at Granville Chiropractic and Physical Therapy we focus on getting rid of your pain and improving your body's ability to move in all the ways you need. Whether that be for work on the farm or garden, a golf game, or spending time with your family, our focus is your success.

From the beginning of your first visit, we work to get you feeling better and back on track. This can often entail the use of one of our many treatments options such as movement training, spinal adjustment, mobilization, myofascial release, dry needling along with working to get you involved by giving you tools to help yourself with your care.

How does insurance pricing work?

It is difficult to say and it always depends.

So why prefer Granville Chiropractic and Physical Therapy over the rest?

1.  We are a private outpatient clinic. This means that state negotiated reimbursement rates for private clinics are lower than hospital-based clinics.

This means that rates for services negotiated with insurance companies or sometimes two or three times higher for hospital-based outpatient facilities. Once a deductible has been met, this does not affect the policy holder, the client.

But if the deductible is not been met, that will mean higher bills per visit for the policyholder and potentially less visits completed before a deductible is met and an insurance policies coverage will take effect.

2.  Smaller practice means less overhead which means lower pricing for clients.

Being small operation with so much personal investment means that we take pride in our clinic and in the personal relationships that we form with those we work with and treats.

We are able to provide exceptional communication as well as exceptional transparency with treatment, scheduling and expenses.

This also helps to expedite so many levels of red tape in order to help you get imaging or referrals to specialists without long waits, downtime, or dealing with phone trees. We care about you.

3.  No facility fees.

Another advantage of a small private outpatient clinic is the absence of facility fees. These are additional fees for the use of space or equipment that can sometimes be added to services rendered on billing receipts from larger not private facilities.

This lack of facility fees therefore also means reduced cost, and reduced chance of unexpectedly large bills in the mail. Services provided are all that is owed for.

Better transparency.

Better predictability.

Potentially lower cost.

Personal accountability.
